Honda S2000 made it to the list of 10 Cars to Drive Before You Die - Readers' Choice and More list compiled by car and driver.

Needless to say how happy I am, especially being the proud owner of one.

What makes the S2000 so special ?

1) 120 hp/liter from a NA piston engine.
2) 9000 rpm redline
3) arguably, the best mass produced gearbox ever
4) Solid high X-bone Chassis, really really stiff for being a convertible
5) the engine sounds more like a bike between 7k and 9K rpm.
6) google 's2000 review' and you will find tons more

Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec for my 2001 S2000

These just arrived for me today [ordered from tirerack yesterday and got them today, these guys are great !!!!] , I am so exited to put these on especially since MY01 came with some 500 tread wear Yoko Avid V4S all season tires (I think its going to be night and day for me).

The Picture shows the front (205/55/16) and the rear (225/50/16), they have got decent stagger.

I researched a lot before buying a 225/50/16 in the rear due to the 8.5'' Tread Width of the original OEM S-02s, and I must say I was correct, these tires are really really wide for a 225 mm tire, and although I cannot definitively say [see below why] the exact value of the tread width on these, they are WIDE ....and my best guess would be these are close to 8.5'' or may be more ...

However today's radial tires often feature tread designs that incorporate rounded shoulders and there is no industry standard pertaining to "how much" of the rounded shoulders should be included in the tread width measurement]

Anyway I will be putting these on hopefully tomorrow and I don't think I need to share anything about how well they perform as they seem to be one of the stickiest street legal tire on the market today.

What is also perplexing is that Dunlop have not published the tread width for the Z1 Star Specs, but they do have these numbers for the DZ101 ()

The Approved Rim Width seems to indicate that the 225/50/16 Z1 Star Spec Tread Width is definitely more than 8.2''

Anyway I just wanted to put out this information I found, with the hope that this might expand/open up the options for choosing rear tire for AP1 owners on stock rims, especially considering how painful it is not to have many options in 245/45/16.
